Our house :)

Hello there!  Thanks for stopping by to read about our house and what we've done to it.  Now this house is still very much a work in progress, and that's not to mention the garden, but here you can find out about some of the work we have done so far!  Just to give you some background; we left the UK in 2015 after my husband was offered a job in Italy, and we were keen to buy a house.  After several trips house hunting we were beginning to lose hope, all the houses seemed to have issues - no gas installed, a tenant farmer that was to continue living on the property, a freeway running beside the house, a clay pigeon shooting range opposite the house,  no roof, no walls, etc., etc!!  Eventually time constraints and budget meant we bought a house that we didn't love but thought had potential.  Renovating our house has been my job - I've been tiling, plastering, plumbing, knocking down walls, recycling furniture, and painting, and learnt a lot along the way!  I'm just a normal person with no particular DIY skills, but we couldn't fill a big house with furniture and pay for workmen to do everything for us!  Our house was one building but two apartments when we bought it - it had no internal staircase (there's an external one to get to the upper apartment), two kitchens, two bathrooms, a sun room, tiny basement that is always damp and moldy, and it all hadn't been touched for the best part of 50 years.  So whilst getting to grips with living in a new country and learning a new language, we set to work! Take a look below and I'll be adding more rooms shortly!
